In 2006, a Development Assistance Committee was tasked with gathering public input for the community center. Made up of community leaders from Lemay and St. Louis County staff, the committee engaged residents to determine the center's location, programs and amenities. The committee engaged residents through surveys and public charrettes to determine the priority programs that make up the facility today. County leaders worked to identify the appropriate funding sources to make the community's vision become reality. There is a lot of excitement for the Pavilion at Lemay. Its opening concludes thousands of hours of community participation, discussions and a commitment to a better neighborhood.
