The Lemay Community Center is a joint effort by the St. Louis County Port Authority and St. Louis County Parks and Recreation. Nestled in the southern part of Lemay, the community center will be an attraction for all of South County.

In 2006, County Executive Charlie Dooley named a Development Assistance Committee tasked with gathering public input for the community center. Made up of community leaders and business owners from Lemay, the committee engaged residents to determine the center's location, programs and amenities. After identifying numerous possible sites, the community favored an area between Kingston Drive and Grant Road.

The next step is the design phase, where designers will put the community's input to paper. Most recently, the Port Authority has hired an architect to begin the final land survey and design of the facility.

There is a lot of excitement for the Lemay Community Center. Its opening will conclude thousands of hours of community participation, discussions and a commitment to a better neighborhood. The center will be a place where families and friends can play, relax and get together.
