Jefferson Barracks Master Plan
Jefferson Barracks abuts the Southern edge of Lemay. It is a unique mix of community and military base surrounded by county parks and, of course, the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In addition to the famous cemetery, Jefferson Barracks soon will boast a distinguished museum district, memorials and trails.
St. Louis County Economic Council received a grant from the Department of Defense to complete a master plan for the Jefferson Barracks National Guard Base, the greater Jefferson Barracks complex, and the surrounding Lemay community. The Jefferson Barracks Master Plan, which has won several awards, will help guide the development in the coming years.
As the "Gateway to the West", St. Louis was at the center of the nation's new frontier. Now, as the museum district unfolds, Jefferson Barracks promises to be a draw for those fascinated by Missouri's rich military history.
