St. Louis County Port Authority Community Reinvestment Fund

One of St. Louis County Port Authority's most successful ventures is negotiating and structuring a lease of the former National Lead site to River City Casino. The Port Authority, through its Community Reinvestment Fund, awards grants using the revenue from the lease.

The grants are awarded bi-annually with Lemay receiving 75 percent of the revenue until 2014. The Port Authority invests directly in Lemay by awarding grants to organizations to assist with the services they provide to the community.

The purpose of the grants is to:

1. Improve residential housing and community services.
2. Support the local business community through expanded infrastructure, service and marketing.
3. Invest in local attractions that could have a regional draw.
